The most populous minority group remains Hispanics, who numbered 58 million; they also were the fastest growing, with their population increasing by 3.1% since 2010. African-Americans were the second largest minority group in the U.S. at 44 million(up 1.6 percent from 2010). Asians, who numbered 21 million nationally, were the second fastest-growing minority group, growing by 3% since 2010.
