Jo Di Graphics. Data: Eurobarometer 465

The Western, Northern, and Protestant nations have the most progressive views, and the Eastern, Southern (especially Balkans), Catholic, and Orthodox nations have the most traditional.

The Western European nations with more traditional views tend to be Catholic with a very religious populace (Ireland and Austria, for example, have about 55% of the populace who says religion is important, and Portugal has a roughly 70% ‘religion is important’ ranking).
